The SUB 600T was released in 4 different versions; the Professional, the Divingstar, the Searambler and the Quartz Professional. I'm indebted to Mike Joplin for these photos of his orange faced SUB 600T Divingstar. It is a completely different design to the 300T and is a tremendous looking watch in superb condition. Michael Fall sent me the photos of the gray faced Searambler and divelovR sent the images of the black faced Professional.
Thomas Pedersen sent me the photos of his SUB 600T Quartz Professional. This watch bears a closer resemblance to the SUB 300T models, although it has the angular case with the crown in the 3 o'clock position and the luminous markers are larger. Thomas also sent the comparison photos of all his orange Doxas. They are the SUB 600T Professional Quartz, The original SUB 300T Professional, the re-issue SUB 300T Professional and the one at the bottom right of the photo, which is an orange dial SUB 300T Divingstar. Note that the size of the luminous markers are the same as the 600T Professional Quartz. It's not known how many orange SUB 300T Divingstars were produced or exactly when. Most likely in small numbers and during the Synchron - Doxa period. It is also worth noting that none of Thomas's old model Doxas have the US Divers logo on their dials.
Christian Puertolas sent me photos of a black dialed 600T Professional which has the name SPIROTECHNIQUE and a small diver and anchor on the dial. They are in a brown coloured writing and you will have to look closely on the dial above the 3 o'clock position.
La Spirotechnique is a French company (formed in 1947) and a legendary pioneer of underwater equipment. They produced the first regulators and were tied in with Jacques Cousteau at one stage. Cousteau was a member of the Boards of La Spirotechnique, U.S. Divers Co., Inc. and their parent company Aqua-Lung International. I believe La Spirotechnique helped originate the Nikonos diving camera and a multitude of other equipment for diving. They were closely associated with Ordering, but then La Spirotechnique became a mark of the Aqua-lung group. The logo and name has appeared on several dive watches: Triton, Doxa, Tag and Auricoste (information from the dive page of Jean-François). The brown diver and name appeared on TAG Heuer after the aquisition of Heuer by Techniques d' Avant Garde (TAG) in the mid-1980's. Interestingly enough the dial on the TAG was fairly similar to the 600T Doxa. Considering that Aqua-lung consisted of the following brands Spirotechnique (FR), Technisub (IT), US-Divers (USA), Sea-Quest (USA), it is not surprising that several of these logos appeared on Doxa watches over the years.
Ian Hancock sent me the superb Point of Sale catalogue picture of the Quartz Doxa 600T range. A great piece of history which I believe is from the mid 1980s.
The last set of images are from George and they are of his absolutely pristine Quartz SUB 600T Searambler. Note the original bracelet. This was one of doxa's best designs.
